Helping Hands For Seniors (HHS)

This is an alternative to traditional nursing homes and assisted living facilities because many seniors in the city will like to stay in their homes for as long as possible.

 

This program helps maintain that independence by providing basic services, such as house support care to seniors who live in their own homes (snow shoveling, housecleaning, transportation), accompanying them on shopping trips, or shopping for them, if needed.

 

We also transport seniors to medical and dental appointments, take them to the bank, and provide friendly visits to those of them that are isolated and shut-in. By connecting them to the larger community, many inner-city seniors would not require long-term health care until much later in life.
